How Do You Inject Cimzia?

With your other hand, gently hold and pinch a fold of skin at the cleaned injection site. Using a quick, “dart-like” motion, insert the needle into the pinched skin at approximately a 45-degree angle. Once the needle is in, release the pinched skin but keep the syringe steady in position. Slowly press the plunger down until the syringe is completely empty. After the injection, carefully pull the needle out of the skin and immediately place it in an approved sharps disposal container.

Place a dry cotton ball or gauze pad over the injection site for a few seconds after removing the needle.
